iPhone will only charge with usb-c Lightning cables, not regular Lightning cables

My iPhone is only charging with the USB-C Lightning cables, not the normal usb Lightning cables though. With the regular cables, it charges for about 3 minutes before the phone will just stop charging until I reinsert the cable, then it will charge for another few minutes and stop. I have updated my phone to 16.1.2 and the problem persists

I’ve seen this question asked here in March this year, and the only answer was someone that was unhelpful to say the least

has no one figured this out yet?

iPhone 12, iOS 16

Hi Bonefriend,

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities.

We understand that your iPhone is charging with USB-C to Lightning, but the USB- A cable to Lightning cable like this one Lightning to USB Cable. Check that there isn't damage to the no-working cable. Also try using a different power source with the cable. If you usually connect it with a computer, connect it with a power adapter instead.

These steps are mentioned in If your iPhone or iPod touch won't charge.

Regards.
