Unable to hear sound from airpods when mic is in use

Hey, I connected my airpods to my windows 11 PC. I can hear perfectly fine. If I go on a call and select the airpods as my mic device I can't hear anything and people can't hear me.

If I use sound tests to enable to mic for a test same issue happens.

tl:dr when I enable the airpods mic on my PC I can't hear anything and the mic isn't working.

Greetings Itxy,

Sounds like you are having an issue with using your AirPods with your Windows computer as expected. To start, please see the positioning in this Apple resource on AirPods: Set up AirPods with your Mac and other Bluetooth devices - Apple Support

"Use AirPods with a non-Apple device
You can use AirPods as a Bluetooth headset with a non-Apple device. You can't use Siri, but you can listen and talk. To set up your AirPods with an Android phone or other non-Apple device,3 follow these steps:
1. On your non-Apple device, go to the settings for Bluetooth and make sure that Bluetooth is on.4 If you have an Android device, go to Settings > Connections > Bluetooth.
2. With your AirPods in the charging case, open the lid.
3. Press and hold the setup button on the back of the case until the status light flashes white.
4. When your AirPods appear in the list of Bluetooth devices, select them."

"The features of your AirPods might be limited, depending on the Bluetooth device that they're connected to."

If your AirPods work without an issue with all other devices, you will want to contact Microsoft directly for assistance with your PC.

Take care.
