News app crashes repeatedly on iPad

Has nothing been done still? The crashing is actually getting worse, with less and less time before the thing crashes - again.

Tried subscribing thinking that might help, but to no avail. It’s still the free trial, so I will be cancelling before the paid sub kicks in. Not good, Apple.

Apple news app keeps crashing This is my first time trying to get help. Why this goes to an Apple community rather than Apple technical support is confusing to me. The Apple News app, which used to work reliably on various iPhones of mine for years, now routinely crashes (closes suddenly) after a moment of use on my XR running ios 15.7. What have I done? Deleted and re-uploaded the lousy app several times. Shut down and then restarted my iphone. Deleted history on the app, several times. Now I have had to abandon the app completely and am making due with an inferior Google News app, which at least doesn't crash on my Apple iphone (irony???). Is there a solution?

Apple News App crashes on iPhone 7 Apple News crashes about every third time it’s launched. I’ve deleted the app, reinstalled, restarted the phone, cleared History and Recommendations, everything I can think of, and it hasn’t fixed the problem. It’s an iPhone 7 running iOS 15.7. Any ideas?

Apple News crashing for you too? Apple News is now crashing on a regular basis. I messaged with Apple for an hour and the best they could do was to suggest deleting the Apple News app and reinstalling it. I did so and it worked for a day. A day later and it is back to crashing. This behavior started around the start of November 2022. The iPad in use is an iPad Pro running the latest update of iOS (16.1.1). In addition to crashing, the images for the news articles have also been loading slower than they used to. Extremely disappointing performance for an app that has a monthly fee.

The Apple News app crashing issue appears to be a currently growing issue under iPadOS 16.1.

Currently, there is no fix from Apple, as yet.
