My old MacBook Air does not have a usb-c port but i just got a Magic Keyboard that needs usb-c to connect and charge. Is there any other option?
One option is to purchase a Lightning to USB cable such as Lightning to USB Cable (1 m) - Apple
or if you already have a Lightning to USB cable from an older iPhone or iPad, you could use that.

i tried that and it worked. i only needed it to pair which it did so automatically. apparently will need it to charge it but not for daily use. one of these days ill upgrade my laptop.....
