Printing folder/file tree

I would like to print folders and subfolders shown by Finder. I tried to do a copy/paste from Finder into Word (the sub-folders from one of my main folders), but did not work for unknown reasons (it seemed that the copy was done but the paste didn't do anything). I also tried to paste into an email (Apple mail) but that caused a time-out and I had to force quit mail... I tried dragging the list of folders to the printer icon. A list showed up, but while the folders were in alpha order in Finder, the printout of the list after dragged over to the printer is a mess.

I did a search on the topic and the answers I found either did not work for me or were too technical for me to follow. I do not know how to use Terminal or similar utilities. I am using Mojave on an iMac. I am wondering why is there is no PRINT from Finder. Maybe there is a 3rd party utility to compensate (?).

I would appreciate some solution to the problem I have.

I use these apps to print lists of folders & subfolders:

Both are great programs, have a free trial and are well worth the cost if you purchase them ($20 each). In addition to printing, you can also export file/folder lists to Excel, CSV, txt and do other things.

Thanks for your suggested approach. It would not give me what I need. I purchased Print Window and it does the job. I think that Apple should include print in Finder for the kind of money one pays for their products... If Microsoft can (for less), they should be able to do it too...

Tell Apple what missing features you'd like restored or new features added to the system via Feedback - macOS - Apple.

Take a Screenshot and open the Screenshot in Preview, then Print from Preview.

I use Shift + Command + 4 and then then drag the cross hairs.

A faster way for you, might be to use Shift + Command + 4, then hit the Spacebar and drag the Camera over the Finder window and hit Enter.
