How do I update my appleWatch up to 8.6 only. Because It get stucked when trying to update to 8.7. (Series 3)

I have IphonexS max. And I cannot pair it with my series 3 apple watch. I supposed you have had this problem reported before. It would take forever on the download process and then finally go on, but won’t update when processing it.

now i hear that I need 8.6 for compability issues but how can I do it?

watch is in a constant loop, is either logo or reset and asks me to pair it.

An Apple Watch Series 3 is fully compatible with an iPhone Xs Max. But your Xs Max needs to be updated to iOS 16.1.2 (the current iOS version for iPhone). You cannot update to WatchOS 8.6. That is no longer signed by Apple. You can update to WatchOS 8.7.1 the only version available for a Series 3 Apple Watch.

If you still can't do the update after updating your iPhone, stop by an Apple Store Genius Bar and let them help you update the watch.
