Alexa plays only first song of my Playlist (Apple Music) then tells me it was the last song?

In the process of getting my daughter to copy and share a playlist back to me, I discovered that simply changing the name of the playlist seems to be solving the issue. I've made a point to change the playlist's first word to make it as clear as possible. Has worked for two of mine so far.

edited to add, it took a few name changes for one of the playlists, but i am having success. Have not verified it will play all the tracks (there are so many), but it is definitely shuffling and not stopping after one.

BTW, I found that after changing the name of a playlist, all playlists work now without name changes. Also, changing the name of the renamed playlist back to the original name works.

So, I am not sure if Amazon/Apple have already fixed the problem, or the fix is due to changing the name of one playlist.

Folks, avoid “me too” posts on this because according to my search this issue has occurred for years. Resetting or unplugging/waiting or relinking skills for your devices may or may not help. I’m stuck trying to get Apple playlists to work beyond the first song. Generic playlists seem to work (“play Christmas music from Apple Music.”)

The problem IMHO is most likely at the Amazon server level…..

It is actually very true. The only playlists that would not play entirely beyond the very first song are the ones that have been created by oneself. Apple Music Playlists play smoothly throughout the whole entire playlists.

mine has been doing the same thing, it started last night. I tried unplugging my Alexa and plugging it back in but it did not work, I also tried resetting it along with taking Apple Music off and adding it back on. Maybe there’s a bug that’s effecting everyone? I also have the newest Alexa, I just bought it a week ago so I’m confused on why this is a problem and debating whether or not I should send it back.

Amazon claims its a problem with the apple music playlist. I recreated a new one, same problem!! I'll save you an hour....Their customer support tells you to unplug, replug. turn on, turn off. reset, reboot. uninstall app, reinstall app. disable apple music, enable apple music. NOTHING WORKS!

I'm having the exact same problem. I disconnected and reconnected apple music with alexa, no luck. It started yesterday. there's another thread with the same problem, but no solutions.

Things are working normally for me again. Playlists that were broken and I haven't touched are working now. Thank goodness... That was incredibly annoying!

One observation is that playlists that others have shared with me are working fine. So a really inconvenient workaround could be to share a playlist with someone else (eg a family member). That person in turn can make a copy of your playlist and share it with you. You can then play the duplicate playlist.
