I'd like to remove a specific word from my dictation dictionary.

My iPhone keeps substituting "gonna" for "going to" when I dictate into my phone. I would like to delete "gonna" as an option altogether as it's not a word and I don't write that way. Is there an option to do this?

Hi JaneMN,

For help with resetting your keyboard, test the steps below found in the article here: Save keystrokes with text replacements on iPhone

"Reset your personal dictionary

  1. Go to Settings  > General > Reset.
  2. Tap Reset Keyboard Dictionary.
  3. All custom words and shortcuts are deleted, and the keyboard dictionary returns to its default state."

You can also use the steps in the article to help check for any added text replacements you may have enabled. The article here can also help: How to use Auto-Correction and predictive text on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

There are also steps and information to change text the device has recognized in the section "Dictate text" here: Use Dictation on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Cheers.
