What happen to the pencil in Notes? ✏️

How do we re-enable the pencil tool in markup? It only has a pen, fine-tip pen, and a highlighter now? It was so cool to be able to sketch with virtual-lead.

For iPadOS16, slide the visible tool palette to the left to reveal additional drawing tools.

I cannot write using my Apple Pencil in Notes I’ve tried to use my Apple Pencil to hand write to but cannot get the Markup button to show up. I can use the pen to annotate photos, pdfs, etc., but cannot in Notes. Is there a solution to this? (I am using IPadOS 16.1)
