printing address labels
About half of the contacts are doubled up, have double checked the addresses. Any ideas? Running macOS Monterey 12.6.1
iMac 24″, macOS 12.6

Go to the Card menu in Contacts and select Look for Duplicatres:
I believe it will let you merge duplicates into one contact.
WARNING: if you have cards of the same company but with different people or departments shown they will be merged into one contact card. You may not want that so be warned.
Otherwise you can create a new List in the sidebar and add just those you want to print to it. Then open the list, select all and print.

Give this a try: boot into Safe Mode according to How to use safe mode on your Mac and print from there to a PDF. Check the PDF to see if you got rid of the duplicates. If so reboot normally and do a test PDF print again before regular printing.
NOTE 1: Safe Mode boot can take up to 3 - 5 minutes as it's doing the following;
• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed
• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)
• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically
• Disables user-installed fonts
• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files
NOTE 2: if you have a wireless keyboard with rechargeable batteries connect it with its charging cable before booting into Safe Mode. This makes it act as a wired keyboard as will insure a successful boot into Safe Mode.

Didn't work either, but seemed main problem was trying to work off smart list vs group, but I couldn't add to old group but found a way with apple support help. Thanks for you ideas
Had 38 address cards from a smart list, to print to address labels, and when I went to print there were 63, ie a good portion of the contacts were going to print twice , not all, just some. Couldn't see any pattern. Had checked home address only. I have just downloaded OS Ventura 13.0.1 but is pretty much the same, wants to print 61 labels. Have a pdf of the print job, a bit nervous to send out all those addresses. Actually I can't figure out how to get the pdf to this reply...
Did that and there were only a few to merge which I did but still have 61 labels for 38 contacts. think there is a defect in the Contacts program. Will probably just print the duplicates and not worry,
thanks.
