iPhone not charging

I have an iPhone11 and it will not charge when locked. If I am holding it it will charge. I went to: Settings, Face ID & Passcode or Touch ID & Passcode, and turned on USB Accessories under Allow Access When Locked. Still not charging unless I hold it.

I did the steps the last time that it didn’t charge and it worked. This time it was already turned on. Anyway, my phone isn’t charging unless I’m holding in my hand or using it. Any help would be deeply appreciated.

If your iPhone is not charging when it is locked, even after you have turned on the "USB Accessories" option under "Allow Access When Locked" in the Face ID & Passcode or Touch ID & Passcode settings, there may be a few different reasons for this. Here are a few possible solutions that you can try to fix the issue:

  1. Make sure that you are using the correct charger and cable to charge your iPhone. If you are using a third-party charger or cable, try using the original charger and cable that came with your iPhone to see if that fixes the issue.
  2. Try cleaning the charging port on your iPhone. Sometimes, lint or debris can accumulate in the charging port and prevent your iPhone from charging properly. Use a toothpick or a toothbrush to gently clean the charging port.
  3. Try restarting your iPhone. This can sometimes fix charging issues. To restart your iPhone, press and hold the Sleep/Wake (Power) button until the "Slide to power off" slider appears. Then, slide the slider to turn off your iPhone. Once your iPhone is off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake (Power) button again until you see the Apple logo.
  4. If the above solutions don't work, there may be a hardware issue with your iPhone. In this case, the best thing to do would be to take your iPhone to an Apple Store or authorized Apple service provider to have it checked and repaired if necessary.
