How to stop Siri from asking me to select email or phone number of a contact when messaging them?

I have this really annoying issue that never happened before and it's really frustrating.

I usually use Siri to message a contact for me while I'm driving, and today after I said "Hey Siri, message (contact) ", I was asked to unlock my phone, which is unusual because I'm never prompted to unlock my phone to message a contact using Siri. After I unlocked Siri asked me "which one should I use for (contact name)?" And promts me to select a mobile number or an email address of the said contact.

I read a question similar to mine on here and one of the replies said that to select one and Siri won't ask you again. So I did that and Siri still asks every single time. Restarted my phone and still the same issue. I really need this issue fixed as it's frustrating to have to unlock your device physically while driving and to have to tap on either a email or phone number to message someone which completely defeats the purpose of Siri
