Camera and photos access

Hello, I cannot allow photo or camera access to any of my apps. I have freed up space, and I have also checked all of the privacy settings of the camera and photos etc, but they do not have any options to allow access, even when directed to settings from the app itself. Also checking the apps settings does not work either. I am not sure what else to try.

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities! To grant access to your camera and photos, follow these steps:


  1. Go to Settings  
  2. Select Privacy & Security
  3. Tap Photos or Camera
  4. Select the app you want to grant access
  5. Choose the access you want to grant for that app


Once you complete these steps, the apps will be able to access Camera and Photos. Find more information about privacy settings here: Control access to information in apps on iPhone. If the apps still don't have access, you may have to restart the app and your device. Restarting can fix many issues. We also suggest checking to be sure the software is updated on your device. The articles below will help:

Restart your iPhone

Close an app on your iPhone or iPod touch

Update your iPhone or iPad


You can also check for any restrictions on your device. You can do so in Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions.
