Hello! I wanna update my iPhone software but don’t know if I have to enter my old apple iCloud password is that required after updating iOS software or no just wanna be 100% sure before I do it and any help would be much appreciated! Thanks y’all

The thing is i don’t have the phone number it’s a very old number for the iCloud account and can’t remove it from my iPhone I tried so many times but can’t do it but do u need iCloud password after u update the iOS software or just a regular passcode like to unlock the phone??
