No sound alert for incoming texts
Why am I not being notified with sounds from incoming texts in my contact list but do get sounds from strangers

Let's use the steps below to see if there is a custom text tone set for your contacts:
1. Open the Contacts app and tap a person's name.
2. In the upper-right corner of the person's contact card, tap Edit.
3. Tap Ringtone or Text Tone, then choose a new sound.

If you have a specific text tone set for your contacts, does that persist if you remove it?
