My Time Machine is not functioning

My time machine is not functioning. Can everything on the iMac HD still be transferred to the the new Mac Studio

Yes. You can easily use Migration Assistant to transfer the data you desire from your old Mac to the new one. Connect them with a USB cable and then activate the Migration assistant apps and follow instructions.

USB is mainly considered a peripheral interface, and you need a network connection.

The articles I have been reading do NOT include connecting by USB cable.
