When using a shared folder on iCloud whose storage limits determine the max allowed data?

When sharing content from iCloud, the owner's iCloud+ storage is what is utilized. So if you are sharing the content, your iCloud storage is what is used. If a friend shares something with you, their iCloud storage is used. You can get more information on sharing in the following resources:
