Airpods Pro 2nd gen case battery drain

Hello everyone, I have recently got AirPods pro 2nd generation and I believe I am experiencing case battery drain issues to some extent. I used the AirPods without ANC and listened to music for 2 hours and realized that the case dropped from 85% to 72% to charge the AirPods from 95% to 100%. With this pace, I can never reach the advertised 30 hours of play time even without ANC. Interestingly, it seems like the case is not losing much battery when it is in idle mode, so not being used. Is this normal behavior or do you think there is smt wrong with my AirPods?

yesterday i tried this method. My case was 21% and the pods were at 100% when i started listening to music. Then i drained the pods till 72% and put them back into the case. I check an hour later and the pods were at 96% and the case was at 8%. Then i did not touch them again. After 18 hours i checked the airpods. The right airpod had 52% battery while the left one was at 0% and the case was completely dead. I don’t understand this at all. How can they lose so much battery and completely drain even when they are idle. The apple store is really far from my town and last time i went they claimed that everything was fine wit my airpods but this is really frustrating. I hope it resets itself somehow after this complete battery drain

no, for example if I use the airpods only 10% (90% remaining) and put it in the case to charge, the case drops from 100 to 92%, this is a several drain because the case should charge the aipods at least 4 times, if the charge ratio is almost 1 to 1 (1:1) case:airpods, the performance of the case is one charge only, this is my actual problem, the airpods are brandnew

I realised my batteries were draining super fast 4 weeks ago at the same time I was in a holiday resort of which I had not signalled not to be alerted in case I leave them behind…

So all day long on trek I was receiving alerts…

I entered the address in FindMy & it didn’t change it so much.

I didn’t want to remove FindMy as it’s a key feature.

I made a test fully charged on a Sunday, the next Sunday everything flat at 0 without even using them.

So 300% of batteries gone…

I red on some thread that running down the batteries helped so I fully charge now and then Sunday to Sunday I had lost 11% on the case so like remaining 289% of batteries vs. loosing 300% before running them down in the same period of time.

Now that’s 9 days I am at 287%…

Was it running it down to 0 that did it or an update happened at the same time… no idea… but you can all try !!!

I have not tested in use, for the moment I just want to measure the gap of how long it takes to drain all in idle mode vs. before they went to 0.

what I noticed is the first week I only lost 11% but now in 2 days I already lost another 6 as I am now down to 85.

the the lower the case level the faster it seems to loose, I guess to some extent it’s logic…

I got tired of this issue since my case drained 40% (from 100% charging overnight) in 12 hours with no usage! But I am happy to report that it is no longer an issue for me. I fixed it by removing the AirPods from Find My profile, and I reset the AirPods too.

Well I bought them and l thought I’m so lucky because they said was an campaign and got it cheaper than usual. After I’m reading almost all the comments the issue comes from the factory, someone didn’t make the quality control. I am also very disappointed as I’ve been already once back to the store and told them about the issue which after the inspection is not wrong with them. How it’s possible from 100% overnight I’m finding the battery case with 62%. Now I went back to that shop to fix it, which probably won’t happen. If I’m not happy with this product why they don’t want to replace the AirPods or to give my money back? I have to travel 1 hour to the store and also they expect me to pay for the repair, this isn’t my fault and so far they won’t give me a solution for it.

I face the same issue! Every hour the battery drains approx. 2%. This is confirmed by Genius Bar because I left them the device and after 3 hours the battery went down. Although they reported this battery drain, they told me that it’s normal.

This is what they said

Issue: Customer has reported issues with their case discharging.
Steps to Reproduce: The case was checked in and charged. The AirPods charged up to 100%. The case was charged up to 98% and then unplugged at 14:37pm

The case was left uncharged. At collection the AirPods case was 94%, in the process of our conversation which lasted around 20 minutes the case at 18:16 was 93%

Proposed Resolution: I proposed that if the customer wants to test charging further to compare performance the comparable test would need to be completed in store with our test AirPods 2nd gens versus the customer AirPods. The customer has requested that we document our testing so far and that they take the case so they can take the conversation further with Apple support.

At this point we have not identified a specific issue or cause for their reported concern.

Do you think that it’s normal? By the way, a week ago they replaced the case with a brand new one.

I JUST WANT TO ADD THAT THIS IS AN ISSUE FOR ME TOO. Bought these AirPods within this year. This last few weeks they’ve been increasingly failing to hold a charge. Today for example, my AirPods were charging all night in a charged case. I opened them up in the morning for class at 10AM at 11:15 they gave me a 10% warning. They’re supposed to last 4-6 hours… CHINGATE APPLE. YOUD THINK YOUR TERRIBLE ETHICS WOULD AT LEAST PRODUCE GOOD PRODUCTS BUT NO THEYRE TRASH.
