factory reset without icloud password

How do I factory reset my ipad when I don't have the icloud password associated with the account. This is a company ipad, and the previous user is not available to log out or give any credentials. So we want to do a factory reset and set it up as new.

You cannot as activation lock will prevent you from setting it up as new. If you meet Apple's requirements to prove ownership they can help remove activation lock -> How to remove Activation Lock - Apple Support use the start support request to request Apple support help.

And in the future, stop allowing individual Appleid use on company devices by using a corporate MDM deployment instead -> Business - Apple

A MDM allows the company to always maintain total control and ownership of the company's property.
