iPhone Voice to Text punctuation not working - iOS 17 Update

The shame of it is with all the people that are complaining about this problem with their Apple phones they do absolutely nothing

If the AI they have installed on our phones is any example of its capability it's going to destroy our world

I think Microsoft needs to be held accountable

In addition to everyone's comments, NOW the voice-to-text offers uncommon spellings of people's names and you have to change it to the basic spelling.

Apple needs top hire employees with NO ACCENT to create the database and suggestions for spellings.

Apple dictation doesn’t work at all for me. Spinning wheel then nothing no matter what browser or app I try to use it in. I have my iPhone 15 pro max updated with the latest, dictation was turned off then on and the iPhone has been completely shut down and restarted. Problem persists. Come on Apple!

Eye share everybody’s frustration, on this thread. I think every employee of Apple. Up to the executive, and see E oh level should, only use speak to text while. Communicating. Let’s see, how that works out? for their business operations.

I have seen the same! Voice to text has all kinds of problems, although now that I am speaking about the problems, it’s working perfectly.

One of the craziest things is that it kept dropping in proper nouns that I’ve never seen before for stupid words, like “has” gets typed out as Hass.

I think there’s every possibility that Apple is trolling us.

Yes, it gets stuck when in dictation mode so you can no longer manually edit text (highlights text, suggests a misspelled word, cursor doesn’t move. I want to (not wanna) throw my phone across the room. Listening, Apple? About to switch to Android which actually has way better dictation software. Wanna is not a word. Your dictation hardware is useless. FIX IT.

I never had a problem with android voice to text. It was almost flawless, really had to edit, and it got my southern drawl, which really ****** me off Apple.

I’m not going to use any punctuation. It’ll all be added by voice to text Cause **** I give up

I’m a writer and editor it’s driving me crazy to do so but the message is more important than my Inner editor atm

As soon as I can afford to get back into a galaxy high-end phone like I had, I’m sold, can’t wait. It might be really soon.

And here it is June 2024, and the problem is not fixed. If anything it is worse. I don't understand how Apple could not address this issue. Voice to text used to work, and now it does not work. How does this happen? Apple please, please fix this. It's very difficult for those of us who need to use voice to text. Sometimes I wonder if it's not intentional because it is just so bad. Could you please provide an update on when this will be repaired?

I agree. It used to work fine. Now we have these ridiculous commas inserted apparently at random. Please sort this out Apple!

It’s beyond horrible. Unbelievable. Apple, you truly TRULY disappoint with this one. You’re making Android more appealing by the minute.
