I'm using a Dell Laptop for work and I wanted to use my Imac (2013) as a second monitor but even after plugging in the mini display adapter, nothing is happening. My Imac display preferences don't even include the "arrangement" tab.
Is it not possible to use my imac as a second screen?

The only way to do this is use a third party software. I currently use Luna Display. It is a dongle that would plug into your laptop and then two pieces of software. One is Luna Display (transmitting side) and Luna Secondary (receiving end) the setup works great when both devices are connected via Ethernet on the same network. You can also connect via wifi as well.

Nope' the iMac is a computer and can not be used as a display for a windows pc.
