Unable to install fonts - New Macbook Pro Ventura 13.0.1

Hello,

I am not able to install fonts on my new macbook (OS Ventura 13.0.1).

I receive the following message:

"Fonts not installed

Could not install font. This may occur because of efforts to install fonts in files containing no valid fonts. Check your selection and try again."

I tried installing both by pressing "install", after clicking the .ttf file, and after dragging the file into Font Book. Neither worked.

Would appreciate help.

Thanks!

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 13.0

After trying several times to fix the same problem, the only way that worked for me was this:

My solution: Copy the fonts directly into the "fonts" folder inside "Library", if it doesn't exist create it and put the fonts you need there. The system recognized them immediately and I didn't have any problems anymore, I hope it works for you too.

Hi _nevo,

Does this happen only when trying to install a specific font, or does it happen with multiple? That information will help us plan how to proceed.

Please also check out the information in this link, to ensure the correct process is being used to install fonts, so we can make sure there's no issue there: Install or remove fonts on your Mac

Install or remove fonts on your Mac

Your Mac comes with many built-in fonts, and you can download and install more from Apple and other sources.

macOS supports TrueType (.ttf), Variable TrueType (.ttf), TrueType Collection (.ttc), OpenType (.otf), and OpenType Collection (.ttc) fonts. macOS Mojave or later also supports OpenType-SVG fonts. Legacy suitcase TrueType fonts and PostScript Type 1 LWFN fonts might work but aren't recommended.

Install fonts

1. Double-click the font in the Finder.
2. Click Install in the font preview window that opens. The font then appears in the Font Book app, and is available for use in your apps.

If you want the fonts you install to also be available to other user accounts on your Mac, use Font Book settings to set the default install location.

Thank you!

I am installing zsh - see details at: https://www.engineeringwithutsav.com/blog/spice-up-your-macos-terminal

Step 5 fails with message:

Could not install font. This may occur because of efforts to install fonts in files containing no valid fonts. Check your selection and try again.

Other folks have the same issue - the font itself is correct - I tried various sources...
