george ~ It's not possible to send a Personal Automation to someone, so...

Your automation should consist simply of a Run Shortcut action.

In the shortcut that's run, put a Comment action (or several) at the top containing your instructions on how to set up the automation trigger, the Run Shortcut action, etc.

Following that Comment action(s), put the actions required to complete the automated task.

Share that shortcut.

I would recommend creating a document to share. On the document, write the instructions you followed to create the automation. If you forgot, this is how you do it:

  1. Open the Shortcuts app and select Automations.
  2. Click “+” and select personal automation.
  3. Choose what the automation should be triggered by.
  4. Create what the shortcut should do
  5. Review the automation, and add it.
  6. When triggered, the automation will do what you told it to. To edit, go to the automation and select the part to edit.

Some recommended ways to create a document are:

-Apple’s Pages

-Microsoft Word

-Google Docs

Remember, however, that you cannot download the Shortcuts app on a non-Apple device (You can, but it won’t be the SAME Shortcuts app.) If you need help creating a document, visit:

Hi george.zed,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. In order to share a shortcut, you will need to find it in the Shortcuts app. Guidance below is from Share shortcuts on iPhone or iPad.

"Share a shortcut through iCloud

  1. In the Shortcuts app  on your iOS or iPadOS device, tap  on a shortcut.
  2. In the shortcut editor, tap , then do one of the following:
  • Share a shortcut through an app: Tap an app (such as Messages or Mail) in the row of share options, then use the app to send the link.
    • When the recipient taps the link, a description of the shortcut is displayed. When the recipient taps Get Shortcut, the shortcut is added to their shortcuts collection.
  • Share a shortcut as a copied link: Tap Copy iCloud Link, tap Copy Link, then paste the link into a sharing app (such as Messages or an email app).
    • When the recipient taps the link, a description of the shortcut is displayed. When the recipient taps Get Shortcut, the shortcut is added to their shortcuts collection."

If your shortcut does not appear there, you may need to recreate it from the Shortcuts app.

Take care.
