I received a text message saying the Icloud terms and conditions have been updated and I must agree to them or access would be cancelled. I answered yes a couple of times and that was it. I'm worried that it was a scam. There was no trace of the text message in messages. Any suggestions on what I can do?

Did someone have physical access to your phone while it was unlocked? Have you jailbroken your phone? If not, no one has installed third-party software.
But, you can always restore your phone to factory settings (not from a backup):

You have nothing to worry about.
IdrisSeabright is correct that unless someone had physical access and was able to unlock your device by knowing your passcode, you have nothing to fear.
Many thanks for yor reply SB. My problem is that I fear I have allowed a third party to put software on my phone that will send them any codes I input for, say, accessing bank accounts. Is there any way of finding out if there is any virus on my phone?
