iphone 14 rings only once then shuts off

the potential answers earlier didn't work for me... went thru an hour of talk with Apple support but their final suggestion is I contact the carrier AT&T.

Anything new about this problem?

Home--Accessibility-- Touch-- Audio routing-- Auto Answer Calls..

it was set on 5 seconds (don't know why) so I set it to 40 and that did the trick!!!!!!!

This shouldn't be the problem but check it out anyway. Settings>Accessibility>Face ID & Attention>Attention Aware Features and turn that off.

Also, you could try using the feature in the Find My app that allows you to play a sound on a device to help you locate it.

slight correction... the phone doesn't 'shut off', rather it drops volume to about 1 or 2 on a scale of 10... so if i forgot where i left it, it doesn't ring long enough to find it.

Excellent detective work. I think you could also just turn that feature off if you don't need it.
