Set back the primary icloud email address as Apple iD Okay, so I am struggling to re-set my primary icloud email address as my Apple ID after I changed it to some of my other email address. I am unable to remove my icloud email address from my Apple ID Email & Phone Numbers to try re-adding it, it says "This is an alias of your Apple ID email address.". And when I try to change my Apple ID to the icloud email address I just get the "This email address cannot be used as an Apple ID at this time." error. What am I missing here? I signed out of all of my devices and trying to fix this issue from Web.

Apple does not mention in How to create a new Apple ID any length of text as a requirement. An Apple ID though has to be unique and the chances are that a short name of your choice has been used already.

If a short name can't be used you will find out quickly enough.
