Home Sharing on iPad Pro missing Genres & Movie Icon Art

My iPad Pro has two issues with Apple TV app (under home sharing) since updating to iOS 16. First with the update to iOS 16, the iPad Pro no longer gets genres in the home sharing library.

Second, with the update to iOS 16.2, the iPad Pro also no longer shows movie icon art, just the blank rectangles where they used to be.

I can still play the movies, but it takes forever to load as I can't go to the genre (which is faster). And it's disappointing that movie icon art no longer shows

I've signed out of all machines & devices for home sharing. Restarted them, then signed back in. Still same issue. Restarted main machine sharing the library (a Mac Pro running 12.6.2). Hard restarted the iPad Pro. Force restarted the iPad Pro. Neither restart worked. Deleted the Apple TV app and redownloaded it. That didn't work. Erased the iPad Pro and reinstalled all software, still did not fix the issues.

Has anyone figured out how to get genres and movie icon art in iOS 16.2 with home sharing? Apple's phone support has not been able to figure out why it's not working either.

Home sharing genres work on iPhone 14 pro max, but movie icons do not. Home sharing works perfectly fine on an Apple TV for all movies, genres and art. So I know the main machine is sending the art and genres. Would love for it to work the way it did with iOS 15.*

Same here. 16.4 has fixed the art. However, my experience is like yours - genres are still gone. I'm tired of wanting on Apple. I've since moved on to using Plex. Works extremely well without issues. Remembers playback across all devices, shows all art and has even more indepth info about all media on the server.

I’m running the latest Ventura and ipad OS and iOS 16.3.1. After four cases and many more calls to Apple Support, reformatting 2 external USB drives (from HPF to APFS), and numerous other rediculous exercises, I finally got Advanced Support to acknowledge this missing artwork is a bug in Home Sharing. “The engineers are aware of the issue, have numerous cases concerning the same problem and are working on a fix.” No estimated time on availability but I suspect it will be in a future iOS and iPadOS update. Note that the current version of tvOS does NOT exhibit this anomaly and works as expected with Home Sharing.

I’m seeing the exact same issue. The machine that was sharing the library was a 2015 iMac, that was unable to be upgraded to the latest macOS, but now I’ve got the M2 Mac mini setup with the latest macOS Ventura, and same issue. So has nothing to do with that. iPadOS and iOS are latest (16.3), but still not fixed. Has anyone talked to Support, and gotten their case escalated?
