outgoing mail server is greyed out

The options to outgoing mail server are greyed out, the username and password are blank and i cannot fill them in as the options are greyed out. this is causing my mails from outbox to not reach the sender and stay in the outbox.

I have tried switching between networks, so it is not a problem with my internet connection. i’ve also tried deleting the account, resetting the password setting, power off my phone but nothing has worked.

In the last few hours, there have been some problems with Apple servers, as can be seen from this summary (which I advise you to consult when you have problems connecting to Apple services):--> Apple - Support - System Status

Most of them have been resolved (but I'm still getting error messages logging in here in the Apple Support Community), so I suggest you be patient and try again in a while.
