My husband couldn't find his phone and he was out of state. Everyone in our household tried to "play a sound" but his phone shows as "offline," so that wasn't working and apparently it has been "offline" for days. What is going on with iOS16??
Apparently it appears that the iPhone was lost and the battery is dead in the iPhone. If the battery is dead, then the iPhone has no way to connect to a Wi-Fi or a Cellular Network and therefore it shows as Offline. It also cannot play a sound without power. Did you try and call the iPhone within a few hours after it was lost? Calling won't help now either.
You may have to locate this iPhone by searching for it physically.

How would anyone know that if they can’t find the phone? How do you enter a password if you don’t have the phone, or use a fingerprint without having the phone?
If it shows as unavailable either it is powered off or doesn’t have an Internet connection.
