Iphone 13 Pro Max Front Camera Problems

The Front camera quality has drastically reduced.

The iPhone 13 pro max captures somewhat good pictures and then blurs the photos about 30% meaning the resolution goes way way down.

I may need to switch to the Pixel 7 pro soon if apple keeps sabotaging its own new products when the new model is launched. The Photos labelled ( 1 & 2 ) are the back camera and (3 & 4 ) are the front camera.

Thank you for the answer,

But the problem is the front camera is it captures the image and then applies some software manipulations and the output is a worse image than before the manipulations as seen in the above post I did earlier

Hey DanySlicer,

You may be seeing automatic HDR. On some models of iPhone you can turn this off. On some models you may not be able to turn this off.

"By default, iPhone takes photos in HDR (for the rear camera and the front camera) when it’s most effective."

  • "On iPhone XS, iPhone XR, iPhone 11 models, iPhone SE (2nd generation), and iPhone 12 models: Go to Settings  > Camera, then turn off Smart HDR. Then from the camera screen, tap HDR to turn it off or on.
  • On iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X: Go to Settings > Camera, then turn off Auto HDR.
  • To turn HDR back on from the camera screen, tap HDR, then tap On."

Hey DanySlicer,

Since some of your photos are blurry, follow the steps below or in this article: If the camera or flash on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch isn't working.

1. Remove any case, accessory, or film that might block the camera or flash or that places a magnet near the camera.
2. Test the camera by trying to take a photo.
3. Test the LED flash:
1. Try the flashlight in Control Center on your iPhone or Control Center on your iPad. On an iPhone X or later or an iPad, swipe down from the upper-right corner of the screen. On an iPhone 8 or earlier, swipe up from the bottom edge of any screen.
2. Tap the Flashlight button Flashlight icon.

If the flash works only sometimes, open the Camera app and tap the flash button to choose a different setting.

There are additional steps to go through in the article. If you still have a concern, contact Apple Support. They should be able to look into this with you. To contact them, click here: Get Support.

Take care.
