Hi Nesceo,

Are you having an issue syncing content between your iPad and Mac using Finder? If so, for help with syncing test the steps below found in the article here: Use the Finder to sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod with your computer

"Sync or remove content using the Finder

  1. Open a Finder window and connect your device to your computer using a USB cable. Learn what to do if you don't see your device listed in Finder.
  2. After your device appears in the sidebar of the Finder window, click the device to select it.
  3. If prompted, trust your device. You might be asked to update to the latest version of iOS or iPadOS.
  4. Select the type of content that you want to sync or remove from the horizontal list. To turn syncing on for a content type, select the checkbox next to “Sync [content] onto [user’s] iPhone.” More syncing options will now be available.
  5. Select the checkbox next to each item that you want to sync.
  6. A Finder window shows the options for syncing music with a connected iPhone
  7. Click the Apply button in the lower-right corner of the window. If syncing doesn't start automatically, click the Sync button. You may also be prompted to authorize your computer to complete the sync."

Additionally, the icon will typically show a blank screen or the image of a Home Screen. You can view helpful information and an example here: Locate and view your connected device on your computer

If you're not having issues with syncing, test a normal restart of your iPad and Mac to see if the icon returns. If you still have concerns, reach out to Apple Support to further assist.

Hey Nesceo,

The play count and playlists are updated in one of the .itl files. One thing you can try is to create a new music library and import the songs to that library and then try to sync that to your iPad.

"Create or choose a library

  1. In the Music app  on your Mac, choose Music > Quit Music.
  2. Hold down the Option key while you reopen Music.
  3. In the window that appears, do one of the following:
    • Create a new library: Click Create Library."

Hi OrigamiFan1,

Thank you for your response. Much appreciated.

I sync my iPad by using Finder with a USB cable or WiFi.

But it happens sometimes that my entire music library gets re-synced.

Also, iPad played tracks doesn't update the info of my music library.

Greetings,

Sorry for my terrible English. Bad translate prog. I guess ;-)
