iPad sync stuck on "Determining tracks to sync."

iPad sync problem.

My iPad gets stuck on step 4 of 5, "Determining tracks to sync." This is a new problem.

Until recently, this was not a problem. I have an iPad Air 2.

I have to eject the iPad to make it stop. It would not stop or cancel the sync when I tried. I could also not quit iTunes when it happened.

I have tried restarting, using wifi, using a USB cord for the sync, updating to newest IOS, restarting both the MacBook Pro and the iPad. Nothing seems to have any effect.

I have also gone into the iPad to delete apps and other items to free up memory.

Please help if you have any suggestions. Very frustrating because I cannot sync any new material.

iPad Air 2, iPadOS 15

Hi ospreytc,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities! For this issue, we would recommend the guidance in the following resource that may help:

If you see error -5000, -69, 13010, or 13014 when you sync music from your Mac

"In some cases, there might be an issue with specific songs that you're trying to sync. To identify the songs:
See if the error message includes which songs are causing the issue.
Sync only a few songs at a time, adding more until the issue occurs again.
For issues with songs that you bought from the iTunes Store, you can delete and then redownload apps and redownload music. You can also download apps and download music directly to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
You might have an issue with songs you copied from a CD or didn't buy from the iTunes Store. In this case, delete the songs and then import them again from the original source."

Hope this helps!

Have a great day.

Thanks for the help. Unfortunately, the problem persists on my iPad Air 2.

There is no error warning or number.

I am able to sync all of the same files and music on my iPhone 7.

There were no new songs or files added to my MacBook Pro which I use to sync the iPad. I think I may have changed the order of a song or two on the MacBook when I synced, but nothing new was added. It was basically a routine sync for diagnostics and back-up.

It just stopped syncing and stayed on "Determining Tracks to Sync."
