Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities! To help isolate the issue, can you tell us more about what happens to your iPhone screen? For example, does it become unresponsive? If so, the steps in the article below may help:
If your iPhone won't turn on or is frozen
1. Press and quickly release the volume up button.
2. Press and quickly release the volume down button.
3. Press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.
4. f your phone doesn't turn on, follow these steps to check your hardware and charge your phone. You might need to charge for up to an hour.
5. If your phone still doesn't turn on, contact Apple Support.

...Tap it to open Settings app. Then scroll down to Battery and tap it. Then tap Battery Health and tell us what the Maximum Capacity % is. If its value is only "––", let us know that.
