i have physically downloaded a bunch of photos from my. phone to my iMac but the photo app will not allow me to view the AAE files.. some of them are jpeg some of them are high efficiency and then some of them are are files.. i need to know how i can stop my iPhone from creating images in AAE file format or how to convert them once they are on my iMac.. because again the native photo app does not open them at all.
Your phone is not creating images in AAE format. An AAE file is a list of the edits that were made to the jpg file with the same name. I’m not sure how you are downloading the images, but if you follow these instructions the AAE files will take care of themselves→Copying personal photos and videos from iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your computer
