Weird dot or period between one message and another on just one contact or message.

All of a sudden on my phone I noticed that the last text message I had sent to a friend of mine that we have sent back-and-forth to each other there’s this weird dot in between the messages looks like a period End it changed sizes at one point I’m gonna share a picture following.
