Hello aanv,
The behavior you're describing may be expected. Initially after saying "Hey Siri" it is expected that Siri won't provide an audible response as it's listening for what you need. Use Siri on all your Apple devices has more information on how to use "Hey Siri."
"Just say "Hey Siri," then immediately say what you need."
If this isn't what you're experiencing, we'd like to get a better understanding of what's happening. For example, after telling Siri what you need, are you only seeing a text response, is Siri not activating at all, or something else?
