iPhone 13PM turns off on its own

Hi, I have an 8 month old iPhone 13PM and it shut down overnight a few weeks back. Wasn’t able to turn it back on normally, had to do a hard reset with volume up, down then holding the power button and that didn’t work on the first try ether - took me a solid 10min before it responded to that and turned on again. Battery at 100% as it was charging overnight and everything works normal. An iOS update was available so I updated and hopes that would fix it but it happened again this week. Same thing again, spent 10min trying to get it to turn on again and then everything works fine.

Is this an iOS 16 issue or did I land on a faulty phone?

Hey Markoc96,

If you're noticing a recurring issue with the iPhone unexpectedly turning off and not turning back on, this is something we'd advise contacting Apple Support to take a look at.

A force restart may be necessary very rarely if an app is stuck or the iPhone is non-responsive. It is not expected to need to do it with any regularity.
