The phone seems quite hot charging. Is this normal?

Hello r6hill34,

Yes, it is normal for a device to warm up when it is being charged. If you're also using the device while it is charging, then it may become noticeably warm.

iPhone has built in thermal protection. If it exceeds its designed temperature range then it will automatically stop charging and display a "Temperature alert" message on the screen until it cools down.

You can find more about operating temperature range here: If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch gets too hot or too cold

Cheers!
