Mute sound and unmute sound not working on iPad 11 pro

As a paraplegic I have to use voice control to drive my iPad. Frustratingly, the mute and unmute sound commands do not work. I am using an iPad 11 pro running version 16.2 of iOS. Any solutions to please?

Hi Maryellen99,

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities.

We understand that you're not able to control the mute options using Voice Control. To address this behavior, start by restarting your iPad to restart the currently running processes. Go to Voice Control in Settings > Accessibility and disable and re-enable the feature.

For continued behavior, back up your iPad to iCloud or your computer to avoid any data loss and reset your settings.

This will reset settings like Apple Pay, Face ID/ Touch ID, your passcode, Wi-Fi settings, and wallpapers. Content like your photos and contacts will not be affected.

Choose Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

After the iPhone restarts from the reset, enable Voice Control again.

1. Go to Settings and select Accessibility.
2. Select Voice Control, then select Set up Voice Control. A download will begin in the background.

Use Voice Control on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Regards.
