TextEdit cannot convert to plain text

Whenever I try to convert a table copied from PDF Expert and pasted to TextExit and I give the command to convert to plain text it practically freezes my iMac and seems to eat all the resources finally.

The OS is Monterey 12.6.1

iMac 27″ 5K

Does not sound right for the machine to behave this way.

1 - Restart in Safe Mode. This will perform a Disk Repair, clear cache files and only load Apple Software, extensions and fonts. The boot up will be slow and can take some time - Normal.

2 - Safe Mode will also eliminate Third Party Software, extensions and drivers from loading

3 - Does the issue present in this mode ?

4 - Sometimes a Safe Boot followed by a Normal Boot will just put things right.

5 - If not - there could be something in the main User Account playing up. To further isolate this - Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac. Then log out of the Main User account and log into the dummy account and test again if the issue persists.

6 - If the issue is present in the dummy account - then, this appears to be a System Wide issue on the computer.

7 - Still issues, advise please

... it appears to me, not sure though , one of the app is not able to access certain files/folders/object/element/plugin/addon or protected-memory area , because of lack of sufficient file-access permission etc.

in another set of apps i noticed such, app froze or remains frozen for 12 minutes or so, etc , i had to allow file access permission(s) to that app, etc, then no problem.

This is not problem with every text so it must be something within that sequence from pdf.

The Command+Shift+V is greyed out in TextEdit with that data in the clipboard. There must be something special with that input, which is basically very simple stuff.

If I copy the text (and try not to convert )and paste it into another TextEdit file it is quite OK.

But ⇪⌘T combination or convert to Plain Text makes IMac to freeze and eat up all the resources.
