Is the Brave Browser likely to impact FCP X adversely?

I have just read a recommendation for the Brave Browser as something that stops adverts on YouTube and general tracking whilst on the web etc. etc.

It sounds like the best thing since Sliced Bread but so does Chrome and look what havoc that can create!

So is Brave likely to be SB or BS?

I have installed Brave and imported all the Bookmarks and Settings from Safari.

Unfortunately the passwords have not been imported and I have dozens of them.

Is there an automatic way to transfer the passwords from Safari to Brave?

PS To anyone reading this, I can confirm that FCP X is still functioning and nothing untoward has occurred yet . .

I have finally cracked it, so here is the procedure for anyone wanting to migrate to Brave.

First you have to EXPORT the passwords from Safari as a .csv file (Safari>File>Export>Passwords)

Open the Settings tab in Brave, select Auto-fill and click on the Password Manager.

You will then be able to select Import Passwords which will enable you to navigate to and import the .csv file.

One of the many advantages of Brave is that it cuts out all those annoying adverts you get on YouTube and stops you getting asked whether you agree to cookies on every website you visit. (I make that 2 advantages! 🤓 )

I have done a bit more digging and discovered that Brave is based on Chrome.

There appear to be a number of editors using it with no apparent problems but the same applies to Chrome.

Chrome seems to be hit and miss. Some are fine and for others it's a disaster.

On at least a couple of occasions over the last few years I have had to install Chrome and never experienced anything untoward.

As far as I can tell, Brave has no detrimental impact on Final Cut Pro X . . . though as mentioned earlier, I never had any problems with Chrome on the couple of occasions I installed it.

I have tested FCP on both my 2012 Mac mini (Catalina) and my 2017 iMac (Monterey) which have Brave installed and everything works perfectly . . . so far.

Being able to watch YouTube without being bombarded with adverts or being asked to upgrade my account is a blessing.

The only downside I have encountered is that I can't sign into my eBay account . . . I get a string of Captcha tests which I answer correctly but then am presented with another and another until I finally get a black page with an error message!
