What we're getting at is that the camera used at 2.9x zoom and 3x zoom are different, so what appears in the photos taken by these lenses may appear different, The Wide camera would be used for the 2.9x zoom images and the Telephoto lens would be used for the 3x zoomed items. From what you mentioned, it sounds like you're working with a service center on options. If they're telling you that you need a part serviced, that's likely the best path forward. Is that what you're being told?
