iPhone asks for an Apple ID that is not mine

How could I stop getting ask my other id password instead of the one I am log in and it is asking about my other account

You probably have apps or media on the phone that were downloaded with an ID other than the one you’re signed into.


Those items are permanently tied to the account originally used to purchase them.


If you want to stop being prompted, delete those items and re-download them using the ID you are signed into the phone with.

Hi Mil_88,


It sounds like you have a different Apple ID signed in for your Media & Purchases than the Apple ID that is singed into your device, correct? If that is the case, we'd love to help. Please keep in mind following the steps below to sign out of the current account will also remove any purchases made wit the account. To sign out, just follow the steps we've provided below.


  1. Settings
  2. Tap your name
  3. Media & Purchases
  4. Sign out


Once you do that, you should be able to go ahead and use the Apple ID that you're using for your device.
