I purchased the explicit and clean versions of Renaissance and when I did, they merged together. Same album title, but each song alternates clean, then explicit. How can I separate the albums on my actual ipod?

If you have access to a computer and you're syncing the content from there to your iPod, you could edit the metadata by right-clicking and selecting Get Info, and then editing the Album field.
Otherwise, since they're the same album, there wouldn't be a way to separate those on your iPod.
