Final Cut Pro 10.5.4

There could be many reasons, often related to third party software modifications.

Also: any particular reason why you stay at 10.5.4 on Ventura? It's understandable if, for example, you also use another mac that cannot run a newer version; but otherwise you may want to update to 10.6.5 (after making a zip of your current version, just in case).

I do have a copy.

I tried and it does NOT launch in Ventura on my mac - I get an alert saying that it is "damaged" and suggesting I move it to the trash.

That’s been my experience as well, so I’m surprised the OP has been able to launch the application at all.
