My problem is on outgoing calls my screen goes black. Then I can't turn on the speaker phone. Also I cant get anywhere if I call a number with an automated phone system that directs me to the right department by press a key such as 0-9, #, or *.

If you hold your phone to your ear, the proximity sensor will turn off the screen. When you take the phone away from ear, the screen should turn on. If this is not what is happening with you, then I would suggest that you get an appointment at an Apple Store for an evaluation of your phone.
Isn't it a problem for the screen to go dark during a phone call?
