Why is the recipient of my text message allowed to roll-back the edited message to see the original message?

Why is the recipient of my text message allowed to roll-back the edited message to see the original message? What a stupid and unhelpful idea to empower the recipient of my edited text message to review the original uncorrected message related to the edited message. Who's dumb idea was that? When is Apple going to fix it?
