What is the most current macOS for 2012, iMac?

My iMac is currently using Catalina 10.15.7 and am told my software is uptodate...yet, it looks like newer software is available. Do I need to upgrade, and if so, to what?

That model can't be upgraded past Catalina.

It depends on the age of your iMac. When was it new, what is its model number?
