Why does macOS Monterey run so blasted hot?

I noticed that during the install alone, Monterey severely overheated my Mac. Then updates did the same thing. This is very bad for hardware, unless your objective is to burn out your computer so you have an excuse to buy a new one.

1 - This issue may or may not be Directly related to How Much Empty Space is available on the Drive

2 - It can also be directly related to the Software installed and Used on the computer

3 - It can be a combination of the two above

A1 - Rebuild the Spotlight index on your Mac

What is “Other” storage on a Mac, and how can I clean it out?

Free up storage space on your Mac

OmniDiskSweeper Safe to use

GrandPerspective

How to delete Time Machine snapshots on your Mac

See used and available storage space on your Mac

Locate backups of your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Notation - If the user is using a cloning software like Carbon Copy Cloner - suggest tweaking the Safety Net Feature in this software. It may be making additional Snap Shots that are not being Cloned to the Eternal Drive. If this should be the case, these Snap Shot could be using additional space on the drive

The final word from Apple on Managing the " Other/ System Data “ Category

The contents are managed by macOS, and the category varies in size depending on the current state of your Mac.

A2 - Download the Application Etrecheck directly from the Developer.

This is a Diagnostic Tool that makes no changes to the computer.

It makes a coherent and readable inventory of both the Hardware and Software used on the computer

The application is free or paid from added features.

Running continually over 80C is asking for trouble. The CPU during install and update easily gets to 100. Many other users have said so on this forum. There are older posts than this describing the same issue. Supposedly, according to those discussions, Apple was going to address the issue. Obviously that has not happened.

Just like an internal combustion engine, a computer should be run far below maximum temperatures. Assuming you want your device to last, that is. I have special apps to limit CPU usage, and to get the fans running at much lower temperatures than the OS runs them. Mine are set to run at 100% at over 72C. I also have thermal pads installed to dissipate the heat through the bottom case, essentially turning it into a heat sync.

I've read of many MacBook Air owners burning their laps. Not that placing a computer on your lap is good for cooling, but they do call them laptops! Recent Air's without fans are apparently a problem, too. Speaking only for myself, I wouldn't own such a computer. No matter who manufactured it. That's just poor design, IMHO.
