Apple Health thinks I am in bed when I am not

Apple health thinks I am in bed at least an hour before I am and still in bed when I am up and actually walking to work. Where is it picking up this data? Is it my Apple Watch or the phone? It is recording that I am in bed for about 11 hours each night when the reality is around 8. Why is it so inaccurate?

Hello Starchampers,

Thank you for posting to the Apple Support Communities. You’ll want to use the following instructions to track your sleep on Apple Watch and use Sleep on iPhone

For the best results:

Turn on Charging Reminders. On your iPhone, open the Watch app and tap the My Watch tab, then tap Sleep. Tap Charging Reminders to turn on a reminder on your Apple Watch to charge before your Wind Down time. If your watch battery dies, it won't track your sleep data.

Make sure that you're wearing your Apple Watch at a comfortable fit. If your watch is too loose, the accelerometer might register too much movement during your natural sleep.

If you continue to notice inaccurate sleep results, please contact Apple Support for more help.

All the best!
